Diamond jewelry

From Marilyn Monroe to Shirley Bassey and Rihanna - diamonds are often sung about and highly coveted. The diamond bears the title king of gemstones for good reason: its name "adamas" comes from the Greek and means indomitable or indestructible. But what is it that makes diamond jewelry so appealing? It is undoubtedly this inimitable combination of beauty and strength. No other gemstone can match the enormous hardness of diamonds. The lightness of the glittering play of light has fascinated us for centuries. Immerse yourself in the kingdom of jewels and be enchanted by our exquisite selection of second-hand diamond jewelry.

Carat, color, clarity and cut: 4Cs measure the value of diamond jewelry

We associate diamonds and jewels with wealth and brilliance. Four characteristics show how valuable a gemstone is: Carat, color, clarity and cut. There are quality grades for all four characteristics, which are meticulously checked by trained experts and confirmed with a certificate. The better a diamond is rated for these characteristics, the rarer, more valuable and more expensive it is.

  • Carat: Carat is the measurement that provides information about weight. One carat weighs exactly 0.2 grams. The higher the carat, the larger the diamond. Only very few gemstones are larger or heavier than 1 carat after cutting.
  • Color: Color is also important, or rather the lack of it. In most cases, diamonds are colorless or white. Colored diamonds are created by inclusions of certain elements or irregularities in the crystal lattice, which leads to the absorption of certain wavelengths of light. Depending on the element included, a different color impression of the diamond is created. Blue diamonds such as the famous Hope diamond, for example, get their color from the inclusion of the element boron.
  • Clarity: The most expensive stones shine through their clear purity. Clarity therefore refers to the absence of inclusions and other internal features that impair the brilliance of the stone.
  • Cut: The fascinating sparkle of diamonds is only revealed through the cut. Perfect proportions and exact surfaces, which are called facets in gemstones, ensure that incoming light is reflected back in a sparkling and dancing way. The cut is ideal when the incoming light is reflected in the diamond in such a way that it is returned in parallel. There are different types of cuts and shapes into which a diamond can be cut.

Diamond or brilliant?

Did you know that? A brilliant is a specially cut diamond that is given a high level of brilliance by the cut. As diamonds are predominantly cut in the brilliant cut, the term brilliant has also become established in Germany. However, only natural diamonds with a round brilliant cut may be referred to commercially as brilliant .

Used diamond jewelry and brilliant-cut diamond jewelry: sparkling memories for eternity

The diamond symbolizes luxury and elegance, love and eternity like no other gemstone. Diamond jewelry is something very special, which is why diamond rings are the classic engagement ring. As a symbol of eternity, strength and love, a diamond ring is the ideal companion on the path to the bond of life. For many, diamond jewelry is also a symbol of human existence. Over the course of time, people also acquire their individual cut and develop their personality. For many lovers of pre-owned diamond jewelry, this jewelry symbolizes a person's inner strength and resilience. Vintage diamond jewelry gives the wearer the good feeling of adding a new facet to a unique piece with an individual history - without using up any more resources. This is sustainable action with a clear conscience.

Rings with diamonds, diamond necklaces, sparkling diamond earrings - the perfect diamond jewelry for every occasion

The largest diamond ever found, the "Cullinan" (named after the mine owner Thomas Cullinan), was discovered in South Africa in 1905. The rough crystal weighed 3106.75 carats (approximately 621.35 grams). Three years later, the precious stone was split into 105 pieces - and the nine largest diamonds are part of the British Crown Jewels. The two largest adorn the British crown and the sceptre of the Empire.

Adorn yourself with uniqueness. Pre-owned diamond jewelry is affordable luxury. The elegance and individuality of our hand-picked and carefully inspected unique pieces cannot be compared with new, often mass-produced jewelry.
